Based in the Devon Countryside Ed and Kate Knight have been designing and making furniture since 2009.

The first business Holly Blue Children's furniture was born when Ed and Kate were looking for beds for their growing family finding nothing that appealed Ed turned to his workshop to make something that really enraptured a child's imagination. "everything I looked at spoke of what an adult wanted to see, I wanted something that came from a child's imagination." The business was born. 

 

​As the children have grown Ed and Kate have expanded into unique items of furniture and sculpted pieces inspired by the beauty of the natural Landscape and utilising as much local material as possible. The butterfly screen is unique in that the butterflies were sourced from locals who sold some in order to preserve their rainforest environment rather than felling the trees.

 

The final arm is "From the Ashs" launched in 2025 to complete Ed's passion for the natural world promoting the use  of Ash wood for use in timber framed structures, giving back to the environment by using a percentage of the profits to donate to the research and treatment of Ash Dieback. By selling these products From the Ashes looks to promote the use of Ash as a timber for use in Construction rather than it just be used for firewood. Ash was used in almost all areas of the wood industry before the advent of cheap steel.
